K Fellfarers

Following on from their trip to the Sahara last year, Roger, Mick, Hugh and Norman thought that getting into the hiils again should be the focus for this years winter trip. Madeira was their destination for 12 days, and they had a mixture of levada walks, coastal walks, walks in the cloud forest, and walks on the high tops.
Brochen Spectres are normally seen against low cloud or mist on the open fell, but here is a superb example from Norman of one against mist in trees.
	This is part of the classic walk on the island, traversing the route between Pico Ruivo - Madeira's highest top at 1,862m - and Pico do Areeiro at 1,18m. Superb scenery and exciting situations, to say nothing of a dramatic rockfall.

Mick spent a weekend on the Lleyn Peninsula walking on 'The Rivals' and these three shots were taken on the Saturday Sunrise over the Rhinogs seen from Criccieth.

	Meanwhile Rose and Paul were enjoying the same first winter snow on the Langdale Pikes.

Mid-week Walk - Allcock Tarn and Nab Scar Graham & Irene, Tony & Sue, Mick & Clare, Colin & Val, Jan, Frank, Hugh, Sam, and Norman Thirteen members and friends had a lovely mid-week walk with decent weather. Led by Graham and Irene, the group met up at Broadgate car park where the drivers were advised charges of £8 for all day parking. Walking up behind Forest Side hotel with its walled garden now converted to a series of raised beds, the route soon joined the main path up from Townend. Coffee was taken at a small tarn with a lovely reflection, before setting off again and reaching Allcock Tarn for lunch. Then along to Nab Scar for great views, down to Rydal, and back along the coffin route. Tea and cakes rounded off an excellent day: thanks to Graham and Irene for the walk and the weather!
